Persistent gastrocutaneous fistula (GCF) is a common complication after removal of a gastrostomy tube.Many Statue different techniques for GCF closure have been described.A novel technique involving a punch biopsy device was recently described, called the Punch Excision of Epithelialized Tract (PEET) procedure.This Bedsides case report describes a serious complication of necrotizing soft tissue infection after utilizing the PEET procedure for a GCF closure.
